Membership

Notice: We are currently at capacity for our membership.  We have started a wait list, so when a membership spot opens up (usually spots will open at the start of the year) the next person on the wait list will be offered a membership spot. You can attend one meeting free of charge, and one additional meeting for $5, even while on the waiting list. Please email nhmodernquilt@gmail.com to get on the wait list.

Thank you for your interest in the New Hampshire Modern Quilt Guild! We hope you consider joining us. The NHMQG is a group of quilters of all skill levels. Membership is open to anyone interested in modern quilting.  We maintained an active program of events including guest speakers at our monthly meetings, workshops, sew-alongs, and group sew-ins, and plan to continue to use Zoom for some workshops and to involve members not able to attend meetings in person.

Membership benefits include:
  • Free monthly guild meetings
  • Guild activities, such as challenges, swaps, and exchanges
  • Membership in the national Modern Quilt Guild
  • Member-only retreats and sew-ins
  • Guild events such as speakers and workshops
You are welcome to visit one meeting for free. You can choose to join at that point, or you may attend an additional meeting for $5. After the second meeting, you will be asked to join. The dues for January through December 2024 are $70. If you join later in the year, the dues are reduced proportionately. Email us for more information!

Guild Bylaws
Our Guild Bylaws are available here. Our Policies and Procedures are here. (All changes to the bylaws are posed to the group and voted upon.) If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to email us nhmodernquilt@gmail.com

Nonprofit Status and Self-Promotion Policy
The New Hampshire Modern Quilt Guild is an affiliate member of the Modern Quilt Guild Inc. Through a group exemption with the Modern Quilt Guild Inc., we are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our nonprofit status means that we work to serve a public purpose, rather than to provide financial benefit to any particular individual or group.

We get together at monthly general meetings and other events to socialize and to encourage and educate quilters of all levels of experience. We enjoy sharing our work with each other and want to hear about your successes in modern quilting. If your work appears in a magazine or if you perfected your binding technique, we want to hear about it and celebrate with you! Our events are not marketing opportunities, however, and we ask that members not advertise their own goods and services during these events. Please use your best judgment and direct any questions to board members.
