Events and Programming (Karen, Laurie, and Susan)
March Meeting: Recap of the Modern Quilt Guild’s QuiltCon Show
Our parent guild is holding the big annual quilt show February 22-25 in Raleigh, NC. Four members of our guild are attending: Brenda, Michelle, Patty McG, and Raya. They will put together a presentation about what’s new and exciting in modern quilting!
A reminder that those of us who are not going to the show can purchase a Streaming Lecture Pass, which will allow us to view all of the 28 lectures. Get more details and purchase a pass here: https://www.themodernquiltguild.com/quiltcon-streaming-lecture-pass/
Communications (Brenda and Susie)
Social Media
We have been having fun doing posts highlighting our Board members. We will soon start doing a weekly post, Member Mondays, in which we will highlight a guild member. Brenda will randomly select a member each week, and ask you to answer a few questions about your quilting journey. With 60+ members, it will take over a year to get to everyone!
New Hampshire Guild to Guild Newsletter
Our guild is now participating in this great resource for local shows and guild events. We emailed the January newsletter. Watch for the February one soon!
Member Directory
Brenda is making great progress on pulling together our new Member Directory, complete with photos! Once it is complete, everyone will get a link to view it online.
Facebook group
We started a Facebook group. Submit a request to join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/nhmqg/
This is a private group only for dues paying members of NHMQG. Feel free to share things like things you’re working on, sales or events or classes you find, carpools for shop hops, questions you have about sewing/quilting, etc!
This does not change how official guild communication goes out - we will still be sending important information via email!
Charity (Lesley and Julie)
Lesley brought in 7 quilts and asked for volunteers to bind them! These quilts will go to children through the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization, which builds beds and provides bedding for children whose families cannot afford them. Last year, our guild gave them 68 quilts! Wow! You can read about the organization here: https://shpbeds.org/chapter/nh-hillsborough-co/
Retreat (Ophelia)
Spring retreat will be at the Franciscan Guest House in Kennebunk, ME on May 2-5. So far, 36 members have signed up! There is still room for more to attend, so let us know if you want to join us! To sign up - e-mail Ophelia and Marie, and send a check to Marie. Let us know if you need a roommate, not guaranteed if you don’t already have one.
Rates:
Single, 3 nights: $502
Double, 3 nights: $355
Single, 2 nights: $355

Yard Sale
What an amazing yard sale we had! Everyone went home with some great treasures, and the proceeds will help the guild provide more activities for us. Laurie M took all the unclaimed items and will give them to a local art teacher.
