Hi everyone,
Just wanted to check in with folks, and for those of you who weren't on our Zoom session last week, do a recap of things we talked about. Many thanks to René for the "Hollywood Squares" screen shot of our meeting! As you can say we were all able to see each other and have a good discussion, and even do a little "sewcializing"!
First, if you are not getting emails from the NHMQG, or if we are sending them to the wrong address, please email nhmodernquilt@gmail.com with your updated information! We have several members that we do not have email addresses for, and several others have provided updated addresses. Thanks in advance!
Second, Sew-alongs!
Betsy Perry (betsy.perry@gmail.com) is coordinating the Lee Heinrich Atmosphere QAL. This project is already underway, but not too late to get going on! More information can be found here: https://freshlypieced.com/2020/04/announcing-the-atmosphere-quilt-pattern-and-quilt-along.html
Please let Betsy know if you plan to participate, so you can join discussions with NHMQG members working on this QAL.
Trish Walstad (patriciawalstad@gmail.com) is organizing a Gemology Quilt Along that she hopes to get going in June. This book has different gemstone cut based piecing and a variety of options for setting them, so there is a lot of flexibility! This is a fun way to try out paper-piecing and getting transparency effects with your fabric. Please check out the book and if you are interested let Trish know.
Third, we recommend highly that members go take a look at the various resources on the mother guild webpage. All NHMQG members are able to access these resources, which include a variety of videos, tips and other useful material. There is a wealth of information to explore!
Last, we had a try at doing Show & Tell via Zoom which was fun. Members showed off their sewing rooms and latest projects. Please post your project progress or completions on the guild Facebook page or on Instagram using #nhmqg2020 so we all can see what everyone is up to.
We hope members are getting a lot of sewing done. Please let your Board know if you have any questions or requests at nhmodernquilt@gmail.com.
